During this unprecedented time, we all love seeing examples of the best of human nature in our society. The horse community is no exception. We support each other as we can and love to celebrate the small and large accomplishments. Everyone is talking about “getting back to normal” and others are talking about what the “new normal” will look like. We want to talk about what we are all doing to be “better than normal” as we proceed back to living our lives.

If you are lucky enough to be riding and spending time with your horse at this time, we have been hearing and seeing many stories from you of how our horse time is helping break up the Groundhog Day monotony and save our sanity. Everything from getting back to basics with our horse’s training and exercises, to breaking up the show ring time with more trail rides, to spending time bringing the young horses along to be ready to get back to the show ring when competitions do open back up.

If you have not been able to keep riding, we are also hearing stories about how you are utilizing this time to start a new workout program, absorb all of the educational videos online, and binge watch past competitions available on various association video libraries. All to keep close with the horse community and be ready to ride when the time is right.

We know this time is hard and we haven’t all been motivated every day, but everybody has had those moments of accomplishment. Seeing what others are doing and the hope that is in the air as society is starting to open back up can help stimulate others to get back to “better than normal”. Please share your stories on social media and tag your friends along with @horselinc and #betterthannormal, we would love to see what everyone is up to and foster the spread of inspiration!
